Swiftris was my first tutorial at learning xcode and swift and although i did find the MVC a bit messed up (I was a PHP programmer) i continued with it.
I also tried to find the last minute move as i also used to play a lot of tetris. The first thing i did was to correct the colours to match the original and stop the random colours and orientation. I am not sure but i do not recall the next shape being random orientation and definitely not random colours.
i appreciate the corrections you have posted.
a few things i am trying to do is
center the board
show a random background from an image set
change the scoring system based on time taken to complete a line
if you would consider there i would appreciate it as i am just 2 weeks into learning swift.
